Most points calculators are wrong, and none of them say when they were last checked.
When Ontario retired its streams in May 2026, calculators across the web kept scoring the old ones — and kept ranking. A points grid that quietly went stale looks exactly like one that didn't.
So every number here is generated from a machine-readable copy of the province's own scoring table, and every page carries the date that copy was last read against the source. If the maxima stop adding up, the build fails and nothing ships.

A nomination is not permanent residence. It is a province telling Ottawa it wants you.

Express Entry adds 600 points
In TEER 0–3, if you also qualify under a federal Express Entry program, you can take the nomination through Express Entry — and IRCC adds 600 CRS points to your profile.

600 points puts you far above any realistic cut-off, so an invitation follows in the next round. The province nominates; only IRCC can grant permanent residence.
No invented cut-off
Provinces don't publish fixed pass marks, and draw thresholds move every round. Any tool quoting you a number to beat is guessing.

No sign-up and no email wall; a professional contacts you only if you ask for one. Your answers are scored in the browser tab — never sent to us, never saved. The site carries Google ads, which use cookies; the privacy page says what they collect.
Scoring isn't eligibility
They're two separate tests, and this site only models the first. A strong score doesn't mean you qualify. For that you need a licensed RCIC — we can connect you to one.

BC invited 337 people with no minimum score
On 20 August the minimum score column read N/A. The only gate was a wage floor — and it has fallen from $70 an hour in February to $55, while the rounds got bigger. Seven rounds this year, every one with no score at all.

The student cap is two-thirds empty
Canada's 2026 target is 155,000 new international students. Through May it had taken 19,425. The cap was never the thing standing in the way — the refusal rate was, and it swings from 52% to 11% depending on what you apply to.
Has Canada closed?
Permanent residence targets held near flat at 380,000 a year. Temporary arrivals were cut 45% in one year. Those two facts point in opposite directions, and which one applies to you decides everything — read before you assume the door shut.

Before the points matter, the question is whether Canada is the right move for you. The honest case — including the parts that cost you, like credential recognition and the income reset almost nobody plans for.
What everyone means by "a Tims"
One hockey player's doughnut shop in Hamilton became 6,232 restaurants and the closest thing Canada has to a national kitchen. Its history, the vocabulary you will hear in your first week, what its camps and Smile Cookie fund — and its record with workers on permits.
What the numbers actually say
The points grids and the job postings are published by different parts of government and almost never read side by side. More than a third of everything advertised on the national Job Bank sits in the two skill tiers Ontario scores at zero. Analysis built from named public datasets, every figure dated.
Money, while you wait
Scoring well is one problem. Paying rent here and sending money home on a permit that expires is another, and ordinary Canadian money advice quietly assumes you are staying.
